Tripura is making steady progress in the Jal Jeevan Mission project. Tripura ranks 16th in the country in this project.
According to the information received, water supply services under this project have reached 50.32 percent in the state. Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said this at a press conference held at the state Secretariat on Saturday.
He said Tripura was ranked fifth among the northeastern states in this regard. There are 56 blocks in the state. Out of these 41 blocks have drinking water problem in some places.
There is a problem in laying 463 hours. However, the Department of Drinking Water and Health is working in the field of Mission Mood. “We have no obstacles anywhere,” he said. Our target is to supply water to all the neighborhoods in the state.
The central government was happy with our work and recently gave us a reward of 100 crore rupees.
The state minister further said that the Tripura government’s DWS department has been working in a mission mode to provide tap water connections under Jal Jeevan Mission since 2019 across the state and till April 15 last, 3,82,475 households got connections.
