A drug-free self-reliant Tripura is emerging: Ram Das Athawale

The central government is working for the welfare of the backward people of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated various development schemes for the development of the people of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC and minority sections of the country along with the state of Tripura. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said this in a press conference organized at the conference hall of the Tribal Welfare Department yesterday.

He told the reporters that since 2018-19 financial year till now 21 thousand 462 students belonging to Scheduled caste of Tripura have given post matric scholarship and 42 22 crore rupees have been spent. Pre-matric scholarship has been given to 10 thousand students and 2 crore 75 lakh rupees have been spent on it. Likewise, the central government has equally worked for the development of OBC.

At the press conference, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said that bank accounts have been opened for 9 lakh 42 thousand poor families of Tripura since 2014 under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Since 2015 till now 23 lakh 79 thousand poor people of Tripura have been given low interest loans under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana 2 lakh 84 thousand families have been given free gas cylinders under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

1 lakh 93 thousand families have benefited under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He informed that a review meeting was held with the officials of Social Welfare and Social Education, SC, ST, OBC Welfare Department on the development of the people. From all these data it is clear that during these five years the development programmes implemented for the economically hackward people of Tripura have not been implemented in such a short period of time by any previous government. He said that social upliftment of Tripura has also taken place under the present government as many social crimes have also decreased Child marriage is prevented.

A drug-free self-reliant Tripura is emerging. Regarding the development of elderly people and divyangan people in Tripura, he said that there are currently 4 homes for the protection of elderly people in Tripura

At the press conference, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said that for the protection of the elderly, assistance will be given from the Central Government to build 1 old age home in each district of Tripura. He also informed reporters that more than 11,000 divyangjan people of Tripura were given assistance with various moving materials
