About 50 Cr rupees will be invested next year for the development of sports infrastructure,

The govemment is working with the mentality to develop sports infrastructure of the state.

The state government aims so that no student faces problem in training due to the lack of 1 sports tems, stated Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushanta Choudhury in the distribution program of sports items to coaching centres of West Tripura district at Badarghat Sports School campus yesterday.

Initiative has been taken under Youth Affairs and Sports department to provide different sports items to 206 coaching centres.

YAS Minister expressed, success or failure of the sports sector depends upon the thought process of the physical instructors. He said, budget has been increased for development of sports infrastructure in the state.

Everyone has to be responsible towards building a healthy society through ensuring healthy body and mind of young generation which is why it has been made mandatory to recruit physical instructors in every school in the new national education policy. As a result, 3% of physical instructors will be recruited very soon by the education department.

Apart from that, initiatives will be taken to recruit 150 physical instructors by the Youth Affairs and Sports department. He also said, initiative has been taken to build sports hall under central scheme in 8 districts of the state. Besides that, the state government has taken steps to build new infrastructures along with development of the present sports infrastructure in the state.

He said, addiction and sports cannot exist together. The young generation has to be involved more into sports to keep them away from the reach of addiction.

Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manika Das Dutta in thdistribution program called upon the students to be involved in sports besides continuing their studies She hoped that the students will be able to tackle with the shortcomings occurred in sports due to the Covid-19 situation.
