“The government has given priority to the development of agriculture and the welfare of farmers. Central and state governments have launched various schemes to double the income of farmers. Farmers should take advantage of these projects.”
Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath said this while inaugurating an awareness discussion meeting and distribution of agricultural materials on agriculture and horticulture crops cultivation at Ramakrishna Ashram in Satdubia village of Mohanpur block on Tuesday.
The agriculture minister further said that the farmers should come forward in farming by using modern technology with the opinion of agricultural scientists. Only then farmers will be able to produce more crops and be profitable.
He added, “Farmers are being assisted with various support materials and advice. Farmers emphasized on doing more farming in this opportunity.”
Nath said millet or millet is a very profitable crop and their nutritional value is also high.
Dr. Biswajit Das, Joint Director of Indian Agricultural Research Center and All Tripura Farmers Club President Pradeep Burman Roy also spoke on the occasion.
