Agriculture and agriculture related issues have been given priority in the economic development of the state.
The main goal of the government is to build a self-reliant Tripura. This effort of the government will not be successful if it cannot become self-sufficient in the production of food grains. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath said this while launching Kharif Abhiyan 2023 based on Unakoti and North Tripura districts at Bilthoi 12th Class School of Panisagar subdivision today.
The agriculture minister also said that 43 percent of the state’s total GSDP comes from agriculture. Therefore, the state government has taken various programs for the development of agriculture and the welfare of farmers. He said that if each district of the state becomes self-sufficient in foodgrain production, it will be possible to make Tripura a self-reliant state.
On the occasion, the Agriculture Minister said that various schemes of the Central and State Governments are being implemented to increase the income of farmers.
