In the press conference, the Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs said that a high-level review meeting was held yesterday on recent events of Manipur under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha. Chief Secretary J.K Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and Secretaries of various departments were present in this meeting. In the meeting, detailed enquiry were done about the current status of students studying in RIMS and Central Agricultural University of Manipur In the meeting, the Director General of Police and CRPF informed that the current situation in Manipur is normal.
The Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs said that efforts have been made to keep in touch with the parents of the students studying in Manipur on behalf of the state government. The state administration is also in touch with the Manipur government. Moreover, the state government is also keeping in touch with the students studying in Manipur
In the press conference, the Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs informed that a helpline number has been launched by the state government on 4″ May, 2023 to inform the parents about the students studying in Manipur These help line numbers are- 112, 1070/0361- 2416045/241-6241 and 8787676210 (Whatsapp number). The Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs said that the Chief Secretary of the state spoke to the Chief Secretary of Manipur about the situation in Manipur and the safety of the students of the state studying there.
The Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs also informed that about two hundred students of the state are studying in medical, agriculture and engineering in Manipur.
He informed that an appeal has already been made by the state government not to listen to any kind of rumours. In the press conference, Secretary of Agriculture Department Apurba Roy. Secretary Anindya Bhattacharya and Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Dr. Supriya Mallick were present at the press conference
