AMC bulldozes illegal shops at Battala

Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has once again conducted an eviction drive to keep the city free of traffic jams.

Dipak Majumder, the Mayor of AMC led the eviction drive from Battala to Dashmighat and Battala market since Friday morning. He was accompanied by Agartala Municipal Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav and other administrative officials.

After the campaign, the mayor told reporters that a promise was made to keep Agartala city traffic free and clean during the establishment of Agartala Municipal Corporation Council.
He added that shops cannot be constructed illegally on any side of the city and actions will also be taken against illegal parking.

He said that the authorities conducted many operations in this regard and added such campaigns will continue. The AMC task force broke several shops of the businessmen during the operation on Tuesday as well as seized bike scooters parked on the roadside.

Further, liquor counters inside the Battala market were broken, which was appreciated by many citizens.
