On Saturday, a senior leader of the BJP said that the central leadership of the party has called a meeting on December 11 with all senior leaders of the poll-bound state Tripura.
Rajib Bhattacharjee, the state president of BJP said that BJP national president J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold the strategic meeting in which the poll preparedness of Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura will be discussed.
He further said that state Chief Minister Manik Saha, Party election in-charge of Tripura Mahendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman, Rajib Bhattacharjee and ex chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb will participate in the meeting.
Bhattacharjee added that the meeting to be held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi and the key agenda will be the election in the Northeastern state.
He also said that the plan for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Tripura on December 18 would also be discussed in the meeting.
Notably, earlier Nadda held a meeting with Bhattacharjee and discussed the poll preparedness of the saffron party for the 2023 Assembly election alongside organisational matters.
Although the prime minister’s office is yet to clear the schedule of Tripura visit of Modi, Tripura State administration has already been preparing for it.
The prime minister is likely to address a rally at Vivekananda ground in Agartala on December 18 and likely to lay the foundation stone for several development projects.
He is also likely to interact with beneficiaries of Prime Minister Awas Yojana during his visit to the state.
