Animal husbandry should be given importance for making people self-reliant in rural areas: Union Minister of State for Social Justice

A meeting of the District Development, Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of South Tripura district was held yesterday at Belonia Circuit House. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik presided over the meeting. Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia. MLA Swapna Majumder, MLA Dipankar Sen, MLA Ashok Kumar Mitra, Representatives of three tier Panchayats of the District, Secretary of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Milind Ramteke, District Magistrate of South Tripura District Saju Vaheed A. Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Belonia, Santirbazar and Sabroom, BDOs of various blocks of the district and officials of various departments were present in the meeting

In the meeting, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhowmik said that public representatives and government officials should give utmost importance in implementing the schemes of the central and state governments. All these programmes are adopted for public welfare. There should be coordination between public representatives and government officials in implementing development programmes.

She said in the meeting that an initiative has been taken to give tricycles to divyangjans of the district.

Moreover, two model Anganwadi Centres will be constructed in Santirbazar and Rajnagar with MPLADS fund Fisheries and animal husbandry should be given importance to make the people of rural areas self-reliant. She also emphasized on the implementation of Prime Ministerial flagship schemes in the meeting.
