“The present government has taken an initiative to make the state self-reliant in animal feed production. For this, various programs have been taken under the initiative of the Animal Resource Development Department. Programs undertaken by the department should reach the actual beneficiaries.”
Animal Resource Development Minister Sudhanshu Das said this in a district-wise review meeting of Animal Resource Development Department at Gomati Zilla Parishad Conference Hall on Wednesday.
In this district-wise review meeting, the developmental work of the Fishery and Scheduled Castes Welfare Department of the district was also reviewed.
The district officials of the respective departments had detailed discussion on the progress and action plans of various projects of the central and state governments in the review meeting.
Animal Resource Development, Fisheries and Scheduled Castes Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das emphasized on the implementation of the schemes taken by the Central and State Governments for public welfare in the concerned departments.
He said, “The government has taken initiatives to make the state self-reliant in production of fisheries and animal food. As fisheries and animal husbandry play an important role in the economic development of the state, the government has given priority to the overall development of these two areas.”
Minister Das added that abandoned water bodies in the district should be brought under fisheries to increase fish production. For this he directed these departments to take action plans.
