The state government has given priority to women empowerment. For this purpose Self-help Groups (SHGs) are being involved in various economic processes.
Animal Resources Development Minister Sudhanshu Das said this while inaugurating the office of “Vijayi Cluster Level Federation” and Mega Credit Camp at Kanchanbari Community Hall on Monday.
It is to be noted that the first women-led Vijayi Cluster Level Federation has been formed with 231 self-help groups and 14 village organizations of 7 panchayat areas of Kumarghat Block.
President of Unakoti Zilla Parishad Amanendu Das, Kumarghat Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sumati Das and others were present at the inauguration ceremony.
In the opening ceremony, the Animal Resource Development Minister also said, “Before 2018, there were about 3,200 self-help groups in the state. Currently, there are 51 thousand 200 self help groups in the state. 90 clusters have been formed with self-help groups.”
He said, “Around 804 Crore 83 Lakh rupees is given to self-help groups to enrich the rural economy of the state. 14 thousand 110 women members are associated with the Self Help Groups in Kumarghat Block.
The government would support individuals who want to become self-reliant by joining self-help groups.”
