Prompted by specific information about a significant stash of marijuana hidden in the Mantala forest area of West Tripura District, Assam Rifles and Customs Department carried out a joint operation on April 23, 2024.
Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Customs Department, confiscated 380 kilograms of marijuana valued at Rs 1.71 crore from a forested area in Mantala, West Tripura.
The confiscated marijuana was subsequently transferred to the Customs Department in Agartala.
Assam Rifles has been actively engaged in combating illegal narcotics and drug smuggling in Tripura, with the aim of making the state drug-free.
