Awareness cum training programme in Longtharai Valley to encourage rural livestock farmers

One day awareness cum training under Manu Rural Development Block, TTAADC was held at Karamcherra Community Hall in Longtharai Valley on 22 November. The theme of the programme was prevention and control of livestock and bird discases. 80 enthusiastic livestock farmers of different Village Committees under Manu Rural Development Block participated in the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Chairman of Dhalai Zonal Development Committee, ITAADC Paritosh Debbarma in presence of member of Manu Sub-Zonal Development Committee, TTAADC Khagendra Reang. local socialist Jagadish Debbarma and Chairman of Naitongcherra Village Council (Committee) Kumardhan Tripura. Deputy Principal Veterinary Officer of Dhalai zone, TTAADC, Shikaribari, Ambassa, Dr. Pulakesh Debbarma and Veterinary Officer of Longthurai Valley Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital, Chailengta, Dr. Biplab Debbarma were present in the programme as resource persons and conducted the awareness cum training programme in two sessions.

During the technical session, the veterinary surgeons illustrated about basic health management on prevention and control of livestock and bird discases which should be carefully. tackled and skilfully managed by the rural farmers.

Incentives on current scientific livestock rearing were also discussed in the programme. Target is to cover 1048 beneficiaries of 11 Village Councils under Manu RD Block under Chief Minister Swanirbhar Parivar Yojana scheme for the year 2021-22. In this regard. 186 beneficiaries will be distributed pigs. 93 beneficiaries will be distributed goats, 610 beneficiaries will be distributed poultries, 159 beneficiaries will be distributed ducklings for generating opportunities for better livestock farming in the interest of the less privileged people living in rural areas of TTAADC region within Dhalas district.
