AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV – 2021: FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN – 2.0
“BSF HALF MARATHON”
BSF has always taken initiatives in organizing various sports and community events to enhance cordial relations with fellow countrymen. In order to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – 2021”, BSF Tripura Frontier has organized various “Fit India Freedom Run – 2.0” during the period from 23rd Aug 2021 to 02nd Oct 2021.
During this period, several running & mini marathon events have been organized by Frontier HQ BSF Tripura, Sector HQrs and Battalion HQrs in their respective jurisdictions involving BSF troops, their family members as well as local community members.
In order to celebrate the closing day of the “Fit India Freedom Run – 2.0” & on the auspicious occasion of Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Frontier level “BSF Half Marathon” was organized, starting from BSF Frontier HQ Campus, Salbagan, which was flagged off by Shri Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General BSF Tripura. During this event, 225 participants including members from BSF, Police, their family members along with civilians participated with full enthusiasm in which they covered total 21.0975 Kms (13 Miles 192.5 Yards) passing through different locations i.e. Hatipara, Litchu Bagan Chowk (Airport Road), Narayan Chowk, Narsingarh Market, Durgabari (T-Junction), Ghandigram Market & finally culminated at the Football Stadium, BSF Frontier HQ Campus, Salbagan.
Similar “Fit India Movement Run – 2.0” were also organized at the Sector HQrs and Battalion HQrs in the entire Tripura Frontier jurisdiciton, where large number of participants i.e. around 900 participants including Force members, their family members and civilians ran around 05 Kms each to mark the closing event of “Fit India Movement Run – 2.0, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – 2021”.
During the entire period from 23rd Aug 2021 to 02nd Oct 2021, total 5002 participants (including members of the Force, their family members & Civilians) actively participated in various running & mini marathon events covering a cumulative 17,180 Kms, which is also a record in itself.
All the events of “Fit India Freedom Run – 2.0” to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – 2021” have been successful because of overall participation from various sections of the society all over the Tripura State. The sportsmanship spirit and comradery shown by all the participants will go long way in strengthening mutual trust and brotherhood between BSF and local population.
