On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the BJP-led government has wiped out terrorism in Tripura and brought all-round development.
While addressing a public rally related to Jana Biswas Yatra in Dharmanagar, Shah said, “We have brought an end to terrorism in Tripura through peace talks with the NLFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura), and resettled internally displaced Brus in the state”.
The Union Home Minister added that Tripura was once known for violence, massive anti-national activities and drug trafficking.
He further said that now Tripura is known for development, achievements in sports, excellent infrastructure, organic farming activities and rising investments.
Shah came to Tripura to flag off two rath yatras of ruling BJP, which aimed at highlighting the achievements of state government months ahead of the 2023 assembly elections.
Shah claimed that the BJP will win the assembly elections with a two-third majority.
He also appealed to the people of Tripura to vote for ‘lotus’ for the state’s overall development.
Shah said that he is indebted to the people of Tripura as they supported the ‘Chalo Paltai’ (Let’s Bring Change) slogan to bring an end to the “Communists’ misrule”.
Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister Manik Saha and Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik were present at the flagging off ceremony of the ‘Jana Biswas Yatra’.
