UP election result: BJP+ surges ahead in 254 Assembly seats

The ruling BJP and its alliance partners are leading in 254 Assembly seats as against 120 of its nearest rival Samajwadi Party and its partners in the first rounds of counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh.

The counting of votes polled in the seven phases of the Uttar Pradesh election 2022 is underway. As per initial trends, the BJP is ahead in all constituencies in Varanasi.

The ruling BJP is ahead of the Congress in Goa with leading in 18 seats, according to trends available for all 40 seats in the coastal state. The Congress was leading in 12 seats, while the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, or MGP, was ahead in five seats.
