BJP smells conspiracy behind the story of attack on Fact Finding Team in Tripura

On Saturday, a day after alleged Congress and other party leaders faced attack at Nehalchandra Nagar under Sepahjala district, BJP slammed CPIM and Congress for staging the incident to malign the name of the BJP and state government.

BJP state spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharya said in press release stated that the state BJP leaders have already discussed the matter with the local officials and concerned others.

He added, “The party believes that there is a deep conspiracy behind this incident. The divisive self-interested CPIM and Congress leaders have tried to stage the event as planned to malign the name of the state and BJP at the national level”.

Nabendu further said that the Chief Minister of the state Dr Manik Saha inquired about the details of the matter from the Director General of Police from Delhi and ordered to take legal action.

He added that after the inquiry, the BJP leadership has found that Congress and CPIM MPs and MLAs did not even contact the police before going to the respective areas, which indicates their wrong intention.

Nabendu Bhattacharya further said, “The delegation went there and tried to mislead the local people by talking about post-election terrorism. Although there was a protest, there was no attack. The security personnel present actively escorted the delegation from the area”.

He further said that the opposition leaders may have not learned any lesson from the election results yet.

Nabendu added, “Attempts to discredit the state by making false allegations against the government should be avoided. The people of the state will not forgive anyone who wants to defame the state. BJP strongly condemns this attempt to spread false information”.
