BSF Tripura’s persistent endeavors towards eradicating the menace of Narcotic
smuggling in the State of Tripura by regularly conducting “Anti-Narcotic Smuggling
Drives”, has been yielding positive results.
BSF Tripura stands firm with the commitment
for this social cause and continuously seizing huge quantity of narcotics and other
contraband items on Indo-Bangladesh border as well as hinterland to contribute in
making “Tripura, A Drug-Free State”.
In the series of such operations, acting on specific BSF intelligence input, on 28th
Dec 2021 in the evening hours, BSF troops of Border Out Post Anandpur, Ex-150 Bn
BSF, Gokulnagar successfully seized “Yaba Tablets – 29,580 Nos worth Rs.
1,47,90,000/-” near Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence, behind the Government School,
Lucherbari, Village- Anandpur, Police Station- Sonamura, Sub Division- Sonamura,
District- Sepahijala (Tripura).
The seized Yaba Tablets are being handed over to local Police for further course of action under NDPS Act.
Besides above, on the intervening night 28-29 Dec 2021, BSF troops also succeeded in seizing various other contraband items having collective market value of Rs. 15,78,138/-.
Further, on specific BSF intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Srimantapur, Ex-133 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar also foiled the trans-border attempt and apprehended 04 Bangladeshi Nationals and 01 Indian tout.
During preliminary questioning, they reveal their identity as i) Abdul Jalil (65 yrs) S/o Abdul Jabbar, ii) Helena Begum (52yrs) W/o Abdul Jalil, iii) Baby Akhtar (55 yrs) W/o Humayun
Kabir, iv) Md Jakharia (05 yrs) S/o Ashad Miya, all resident of Surjya Nagar, POAnandpur, PS- Dakshin Sadar, Distt- Comilla, (Bangladesh) and v) Rafikul Islam (Indian Tout) S/o Abdul Razak R/o Village- Singerpara, Sonapur, PORabindranagar, Police Station- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala (Tripura).
An FIR has been lodged and all the apprehended persons along with their recovered items handed over to local Police for further legal action.
It is also worth mentioning here that vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme
frontiers of the Country in the State of Tripura are also effectively maintaining peace and
tranquility along the International Boundary.
