The nationwide ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ by all the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) under caption “Paryavaran – Pratham Rakshha Pankti” is an initiative of Hon’ble Union Home Minister, who inaugurated the Tree Plantation Campaign at Cherrapunji (Meghalaya), today. During this mega drive, tree plantation was undertaken simultaneously by all the CAPFs across the country, today.
BSF Tripura has also contributed in this mission by conducting ‘Mega Tree Plantation Drive’ on 25th July 2021 in all Border Out Posts as well as the headquarter of Battalions, Sectors and Frontier. In this special drive, the various formations of the Tripura Frontier have planted more than 20,600 saplings on this single day, which included numerous types of fruit bearing, ornamental as well as forest grown saplings.
During this plantation drive, Sh. Susanta Kumar Nath, IPS, Inspector General Tripura Frontier along with BSF Officers, Subordinate Officers and Other Ranks besides BSF families & children joined together in planting more than 1000 saplings of various fruit bearing and ornamental plants in BSF Campus Salbagan, adhering to COVID-19 protocols.
During the current session, BSF Tripura has already planted more than 92,000 saplings in various BSF Campuses and Border Out Posts as well as in the premises of Govt. Institution in the bordering regions. Thus, the total number of saplings planted till date has touched the mark of 1,13,000 Nos. Through such plantation drives, BSF Tripura has been continuously contributing towards the goal set by State Govt i.e. “Green Tripura – Clean Tripura”.
