The state Cabinet approved abolition of CID branch and Enforcement department, instead approved formation of Crime Branch, said the Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath yesterday.
He was briefing media about several decisions approved in Cabinet meeting by the council of Minister on Tuesday.
He said, new Crime Branch will be set up for which 38 new posts have been created. In total around 300 personnel will work under Crime Branch, he said.
Detailing about the newly formed Crime Branch, Ratan Lal Nath said, the branch will look after economic and cyber crimes. Moreover it will also deal with Narcotics and crimes of special nature.
