Central and state governments are working on priority basis for the welfare of farmers. Specific plans have been taken to double the income of farmers. Agriculture Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said this while inaugurating Nalchar Agricultural Sub-Divisional Office in Jumerdhepa Panchayat on 17 December, 2022 The Agriculture Minister said that not only infrastructural development should be developed, the offices should have necessary furniture, staff and important materials too India is a major agricultural countrywhere most of the people are engaged in agriculture. Therefore, Agricultural sector should be developed. Otherwise there will be no economic development.
The Agriculture Minister said that the state government has decided to open sub-divisional agriculture offices in 18 blocks of the state to facilitate the communication between the officials of the Agriculture Department and the farmers. Krishak Bandhu Kendra is operational for the convenience of farmers. Farmers can get farming advice from the officials there.
The Agriculture Minister said that besides increasing the agricultural production, the state government is also making arrangements to sell the crops produced by the farmers 2 lakh 43 thousand farmers in the state are getting financial benefits of 6 thousand rupees underPM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He said that the state government is working to empower women.
In the past there were only 4 thousand 200 self help groups in the state. The present government has formed more than 43 thousand women self-help groups. The government has taken several initiatives to make them financially self-reliant. Sabhadhipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Supriya Das Dutta, MLA Subhash Chandra Das, Chairman of Nalchar Panchayat Samiti Jaharlal Ghosh, Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sharadindu Das were present at the programme.
