CM Biplab Deb inaugurated the 20th State Level Songrongma Puja cum Mela

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the 20th State Level Songrongma Puja cum Mela, 2021 on September 06, 2021 at Birchandra Manu, Shanti Bazar.

‘Reangs’ the 2nd largest indigenous tribe of Tripura celebrates Songrongma Puja as the annual event.

The demand of the community to declare the day as a state holiday is under consideration by the State Government.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia and MLA Pramod Reang, MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik was present at the programme.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his tweet said “Inaugurated the 20th State Level Songrongma Puja cum Mela, 2021 today. The state government is considering to declare it as a state holiday as demanded by the indigenous communities”.
