CM Dr.Manik Saha inaugurates Swacchata Rath

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tripura, Swachhata campaign has been commenced yesterday with the initiative of Urban Development department to keep the city garbage free and clean. The campaign shall continue till December 17.

With the goal of generating public awareness about the campaign, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha had flagged off 3 Swacchata Rath. While interacting with the media, he said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had always emphasized upon Swacchata campaign from the start. That is why the campaign has been started to keep the city garbage free and clean prior to his visit.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumdar, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Secretary of UD department Abhishek Singh and Director of the department Tamal Majumdar were also present in the programme.

Later, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries took part in Swacchata campaign conducted near the fish market of Maharajganj market.
