CM inaugurates new Eye Operation Theatre at TMC; The new Eye Operation Theatre has modern facilities says CM

Eyes are important parts of a human body. One can experience everything in the world through eyes. That is protecting our eyes is very important. The state government is continuing its work with different plans for the welfare of eye patients, enunciated Chief Minister Prof (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating new Eye Operation Theatre at Tripura Medical College and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Teaching Hospital, Hapania today. The Chief Minister said, earlier, there was no separate eye operation theatre here at the Medical College in 2005.

Due to lack of enough space in the hospital. ENT and eye operation theatre were placed together. Later, steps were taken to open separate eye operation theatre here after the new building of the hospital was built. That has been turned into reality today. It is to be noted that the new eye operation theatre complex is of 2800 square ft has been built on the first floor of Tripura Medical College and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Teaching Hospital at the cost of 18 lakh 75 thousand rupees.

There are 2 operation theatres for eye surgery in this complex One is for infected eye patients and the other is for non-infected eye patients. Besides, it has separate cabins for eye surgeon, nurses and technicians.

The Chief Minister said, the eye operation theatre is very crucial for eye patients. This new Eye Operation Theatre in TMC has modern facilities. This operation theatre will be further modernized in future. Initiative has to be taken to build this operation theatre as a centre of excellence. The Chief Minister hoped that with the cooperative efforts of the doctors, nurses and health care workers of all levels, the eye operation theatre of TMC will create a benchmark in future.

The Chief Minister said, there are various central schemes for eye patients. Initiative has to be taken to make all those schemes functional in TMC as well. Only then will the patients belonging to poor section of the society will be benefitted. He said, the present state government believes in actions rather than words.

The government is committed to provide best services to the people through action. The Chief Minister called on the health care workers of all levels including the doctors of the eye section of the college to serve the patients with more sincerity.
