On the occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the state along with the rest of the country has started a special campaign to provide the booster dose of free covid vaccine from Friday July 15.
Chief Minister Prof (Dr) Manik Saha inaugurated the special drive at the Covid Vaccine Center at IGM Hospital.
The legislator Dr. Dilip Das, Director of Health and Family Welfare Department, Radha Debbarma and other officials of the health department were present at that time.
Speaking to reporters later, the Chief Minister Dr. Saha said that as part of the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, a special drive to provide booster doses of Covid vaccines has been started across the country according to the wish of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This special campaign has also been launched in the state today. This campaign has been started simultaneously in all government vaccination centers of the state.
As part of this campaign, everyone over the age of 18 will receive a free booster dose.
This special campaign will continue for the next 75 days.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative of the Prime Minister is truly unparalleled.
The Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister on behalf of the people of the state for this.
Chief Minister Dr. Saha told reporters that there is no reason to worry about the Covid situation in the state at the moment.
The CM assured the people of the state that the covid will be tackled vigorously with the joint efforts of doctors, health officials and various levels of health workers as in the past as well.
