CM visits No.82 ration shop; orders Food department to seal the ration shop

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deh along with the officials of the Food & Civil Supplies department visited No.82 ration shop while taking part in a programme of Lal Bahadur Club on April 24 after he received complaints about the ration shop from the locals.

The owner of the ration shop is Saikat Bhowmik. During his visit, the Chief Minister witnessed that the ration shop had 3,600 kilograms of rice stored in the shop, where the ration shop was supposed to keep 1,480 kilograms of rice according to the register of the ration shop. Which means the ration shop had 2,120 kilograms of excess rice. Seeing this, the Chief Minister then and there ordered the Food department to seal the ration shop.

On the other hand, officials of the Food department after receiving complaints about No.3 ration shop of Amtali, during their visit witnessed that the ration shop had 77 kilograms of rice stored in the shop where the ration shop was supposed to keep 4,947 kilograms of rice according to the register of the ration shop.

Which means the ration shop had 4,870 kilograms of less amount of rice. Then officials also witnessed that there was also 139 kilograms of less amount of sugar, 73 kilograms of less amount of Masur Dal, 614 kilograms of less amount of wheat flour. The owner of the ration shop is Nani Banik, The Food department sealed the ration shop based on public complaints.
