Two Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs Sudip Roy Barman and Asish Saha submitted their resignation to Speaker on Monday.
Addressing Media at State BJP Party Office, Tripura Minister of Information and Cultural Affairs Sushanta Chowdhury said, “the whole episode of resignation staged today is a part of deep-rooted conspiracy to fall the democratically elected government”. In the same breath, he assured that the government is completely stable and enjoying a comfortable majority.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, “He” has taken such a decision in the past as well. I was also a member of Congress from the party from which he became MLA. The same situation happened recently. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury claimed that this was a conspiracy to give a chance to CPM.
“They have been roaming across the state and holding meetings with people and party rank and file to gain people’s confidence. At the end of the day it is expected, they were given ample opportunities by the party high command despite receiving a number of complaints and charges of anti-party activities.
