After getting vanquished in the 2018 Assembly Election the leading opposition political party of Tripura ‘CPI-M’ for the first time in Tripura held a public rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan here in Agartala city on Thursday.
Senior CPIM leaders including former general secretary of CPIM Prakash Karat, general secretary of CPIM Sitaram Yechury, former chief minister of Tripura and leader of opposition Manik Sarkar, CPIM state committee secretary Jitendra Chowdhury and other leaders were present.
Criticising Narendra Modi led government at the centre and the Biplab Kumar Deb government in Tripura, CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, CPI-M politburo member Prakash Karat and Manik Sarkar called the people to come out on the street and raised resistance against the attack on Opposition and ensure to reinstall Left Front government in Tripura in next year’s election.
CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, former general secretary of the party and CPIM politburo member Prakash Karat and opposition leader and CPIM politburo member Manik Sarkar were silent about Congress while addressing a CPI (M) rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on Thursday.
Sitaram Yechury, Prakash Karat and Manik Sarkar were not heard to spend a single sentence in criticizing the Congress.
