Sebak Bhattacharjee in a press meet alleged that Jitendra Chowdhury called him on monday morning over telephone and asked him to start the telecast of two CPM backed TV channels which got closed few months back.
CPIM state secretary Jiten Chowdhury threatened Sebak Bhattacharya, editor of News Vanguard channel.
He started talking in a threatening tone over the phone. Jiten kept threatening Sebak Bhattacharya to run Akash Tripura and Dinraat Channel.
Tripura Electronics Media Society has strongly criticised and admonitioned the phone call and threat issue.
When Sebak Bhattacharjee said that he was no connection with the closure of the TV channels nor he can take any decision about reopening it. He started threatening Mr. Bhattacharjee.
“I tried to convince him that I am no way involved in the closure of the TV channels, He was simply threatening me alleged TEMS President Sebak Bhattacharjee.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Spokesperson and Information & Cultural Affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury has strongly criticised and admonitioned the phone call and threat issue.
He said that CPIM wants to catch fish in the muddy water. The minister further stated that Jitendra Chaudhary is trying to regain control over the media platforms, Minister Chowdhury added that such efforts would never become successful.
