The CPM Tripura state committee convened a meeting in Agartala on Monday, held at the Party Headquarters.
Notable figures such as CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, party state secretary Jitendra Choudhury, CPM Politbureau member Prakash Karat, Manik Sarkar, Pabitra Kar, Rama Das, and others attended the meeting.
Rumours have once again emerged about the state committee meeting although it was held on April 19th, just one month ago at the state headquarters in Melarmath Agartala.
However, the leadership of certain states, districts, and subdivisions remains elusive about the previous state committee meeting. Responsiveness from these Left party leaders regarding several political initiatives taken in the previous meeting was inadequate.
Besides, internal party discussions have arisen concerning the exclusion of the youth community from party programs. The state leadership has been unresponsive to other leaders and even general supporters, which is raising further questions within the party.
In search of answers, the Left’s state committee is meeting again within a month.
According to sources, the Left is implementing a series of counter programs through this meeting to counter the BJP and Tipra Motha.
In the presence of Sitaram Yechury on Monday, the meeting discussed why the leaders who relied on press conferences remained inactive. Additionally, the absence of programs from eleven legislators of the party was also discussed.
Reports indicate that some leaders are facing a reduction in their influence, and therefore, the Left is reshaping the state-level party leadership for the party’s future.
