After winning in Himachal Pradesh, she was sent to Tripura elections. She is the Chairman of Tripura Pradesh Congress Screening Committee. After coming to the state, she held a series of meetings with Congress leaders.
According to reliable sources, she has no objection to compromise with CPIM.
After getting his green signal, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Burman said that Congress needs an alliance with CPM. However, Congress leaders are ambivalent about this alliance in Tripura.

Meanwhile, Sitaram Yechury is coming to the state to take a final decision on the Congress-CPM alliance after taking the opinions of the state committee members as per Sources.
Politburo member Manik Sarkar did not oppose an alliance with the Congress in Tripura. He said, “there is an alliance within the Left Front. However if any secular power wants to join then they have no objection”.
Therefore, the Left Congress alliance is going to take its final form in Tripura in the style of West Bengal. Meanwhile, all parties have started selecting candidates, as Tripura assembly election is on next month.
Tripura Trinamool Congress president Piyush Kanti Biswas said that Mamata Banerjee will come to campaign in Tripura and also added that talks are going on with TIPRA Motha about an alliance.
