The crime rate in the state has come down. Crimes against women have also decreased.
This was demanded by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb while addressing in the Assembly on Friday.
While addressing in the Assembly on Friday, the Chief Minister said that a total of 1,070 cases of crimes against women were registered in the state in 2019. In 2020, the number of cases was reduced to 874.
Elaborating further on the day, the Chief Minister said that while 144 murders were happened in the state in 2019, it has come down to 114 in 2020.
Most recently, an attempt has been made to systematically disrupt the peaceful and normal law and order situation in the state.
The state government opposed to all these activities. In the interest of overall development of the state, the law and order situation needs to remain normal. Recently, there have been several political clashes in six districts of the state. Which is not desirable. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb expressed his views while participating in a public interest discussion on law and order in the state during the assembly session on Friday.
In the assembly, the chief minister said the government has taken certain measures to improve the law and order situation in the interest of the state after the new government was formed in 2018. In order to enhance the efficiency of the work of the police, four investigation units have been formed according to the type of crime.
The Chief Minister said that the number of various types of crime in the state has come down significantly as a result of taking all these measures and other measures.
