The state government has decided to hike the DA for state government employees by 12 per cent. At the same time similar hike will be given to the pensioners as well. Making this announcement the chief minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at a press conference today at the secretariat informed that this hike will be in effect from December, 2022. The chief minister also announced that with this hike the state government employees will be entitled to 20 per cent DA in total.
The fixed-pay Group-C and Group-D employees will also be benefitted at the same rate. With the increase of DA/DR about 1,04,600 regular employees and about 80,800 pensioners will be benefit monetarily. Giving this increased DA/DR and increase of salary of DRW, MRW, PTWs the state exchequer will have to shell out Rs. 1440 crore more.
At the press conference the chief minister informed, the state government has also decided to increase the wages of daily rated workers (DRW)/ monthly rated workers (MRW) / part time workers (PTW), Contingent workers by over 50 per cent. As a result, the monthly wage of DRW (Group-C) will increase from Rs. 7,020 to Rs. 10,920; monthly wage of DRW (Technical) will increase from Rs. 7,280 to Rs. 11,180; monthly wage of DRW (Group-D) will increase from Rs. 6,458.40 to Rs. 10,010; monthly wage of permanent workers will increase from Rs. 6,718 to Rs. 10,270; monthly wage of MRW (Group D) will increase from Rs. 7, 344 to Rs. 11,380; monthly allowance of chief priests will increase from Rs. 8,944 to Rs. 12,980; monthly allowance of Adhikari will increase from Rs. 8,654 to Rs. 12,690; salary of part time workers of four hours will increase from Rs. 5,900 to Rs. 8,900; part time workers of three hours will increase from Rs. 5,670 to Rs. 8,670; part time workers of two hours will increase from Rs. 5,450 to Rs. 8,450.
Besides, the monthly salary of village Chowkidar will increase from Rs. 6,700 to Rs. 10, 100; monthly salary of school mothers will increase from Rs. 4,850 to Rs. 7,450; monthly allowance of priest/ Chantal, chief Chandipathak/ Pujari/ cook will increase from Rs. 6,990 to Rs. 10,500; monthly wage of Tallua/ Mali/ guard/ singer/sweeper/ gardener will increase from Rs. 5,940 to Rs. 9,140; monthly salary of adult literacy teacher will increase from Rs. 4,181.60 to Rs. 6,420; salary of part time instructors will increase from Rs. 4071.60 to Rs. 6,310 and the monthly salary of community health guide will increase from Rs. 4,071.60 to Rs. 6,310. With the new salary structure more than 8600 DRW, MRW, PTW will benefit.
The chief minister also informed, the present government after taking over in 2018, had reformed the pay scale of the state government employees. After that 8 per cent DA was given. Despite the financial limitations of the government it has decided to increase DA by 12 per cent. At the press conference the deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma said, the present state government wants to give the best possible benefits to the employees. This announcement has proved this policy of the government. Chief secretary J.K. Sinha and finance secretary Brijesh Pandey were also present in the press conference.
