Distribution of Agricultural Machinery in Old Agartala Block

Agricultural machineries were distributed to Self-Help group and farmers at a programme organized by Jirania Agriculture Sub-division yesterday at Old Agartala Block Premises. 2 Power Paddy Weeders, 2 Power Tillers, 1 Power Paddy Thresher, 3 Pump sets, Brush Cutters and Power Sprayers were given to Nabadurga Self Help group on the occasion. 1 mini rice mill was also provided. 1 power sprayer was given to 75 farmers in the programme MLA Ratan Chakraborty was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.

He said, India is a major agricultural country. The government is providing assistance to the farmers in various schernes so that the farmers do not face any problem in farming.

He also said that on the one hand farmers are being given financial assistance under Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana also farmers are benefiting from improved seed supply, irrigation system, crop insurance scheme.

Chairman of Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti Biswajit Shil spoke on the occasion. Agricultural Supervisor Subrata Das delivered the welcome address on the occasion.

Vice Chairman of Old Agartala Panchayat Samiti Mority Debnath, BDO Shantanu Dutta, Social Worker Amit Kumar Nandi and others were present on the occasion.
