The government has made sincere efforts to provide clean drinking water to the people of the state. The department is working in mission mode to deliver purified drinking water through pipelines to rural areas of the state under Jal Jeeban Mission.
This program is implemented without looking at any political colour.
Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS) Sushanta Chowdhury said this while inaugurating the departmental office of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department in Sabroom Sub-Division on Thursday.
The DWS Minister added that new small divisions are being opened in the state to implement the program of Jal Jeevan Mission.
He further said that apart from Sabroom, Divisional Offices of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department will also be opened in Amarpur, Jirania and Kanchanpur subdivisions.
He added that more than 4 lakh 6 thousand houses in the state have already been connected to drinking water through the pipeline. The department is working on the target of providing clean water to every house in 67 Gram Panchayats and ADC Villages of Sabroom subdivision.
