The Election Commission has taken all measures to make the by-elections of Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly constituencies free, fair and peaceful, which is scheduled on September 5.
The total number of polling stations in Boxanagar constituency is 51 while Dhanpur constituency has 59 polling stations.
All the polling stations in these two assembly constituencies will be guarded by Central Security Force jawans.
Moreover, all the booths will have the system of web casting.
Out of 51 polling stations in Boxanagar, 2 are highly sensitive, 15 are sensitive and 34 are general category polling stations.
On the other hand, out of 59 polling stations of Dhanpur constituency, 19 are sensitive and the remaining 40 are of general category.
According to Election Commission sources, there will be 2 model polling stations and 2 women-run polling stations in both constituencies.
Bye-election to 20-Boxanagar and 23-Dhanpur assembly constituencies will be held on September 5, 2023 In this regard, all government offices, courts, financial institutions and all other institutions belonging to these two assembly constituencies will be closed on that day so that the voters of these two assembly constituencies can exercise their right to vote. This news has been informed in a notification from the General Administration of the State Government.
The notification further states that the voters of the said two assembly constituencies who are working in undertaking industries, other establishments under the State Government which are covered under the Factories Act, 1948 and daily labourers/contractual workers and workers/employees trade and commerce of the State Government will get paid leave on September 5, 2023 Moreover, those who are voters of these two assembly constituencies but are working outside these two assembly constituencies on the day of polling can take special emergency leave. Similarly, casual/daily wage workers of these two assembly constituencies will also get paid leave. The notification states that this order will not be effective if the absence of an employee may cause danger or risk to his workplace
