The first meeting of the newly formed state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Prof (Dr) Manik Saha was held at the Secretariat on Monday.
Four decisions have been taken in principle in the meeting. In a press conference held at the conference hall of the State Secretariat, cabinet Minister Sushanta Chowdhury informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet.
Minister Chowdhury said that four decisions have been taken today in principle today. Among the decisions taken, steps will be taken to improve the economic and social status of the disabled people of the state, including access to government jobs.
The government offices will be transformed into Divyangya- friendly infrastructure and in each district targeted approach will be undertaken for overall development of the beneficiaries,” he added.
He said that under the Department of Tribal Welfare, various projects would be undertaken for the overall development of the state.
The meeting also decided to introduce welfare measures for people with disabilities and particularly tribal groups.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the state health policy will be adopted soon to improve the quality of health services in the state.
The process of portfolio distribution to the new ministers is almost over and it is likely to be made public within sometime, Chowdhury said.
