All open heart surgery for 10 year old girl at GBP Hospital

In a Major development, the doctors of GBP hos pital in Agartala have successfully completed the first pediatric open-heart surgery of a ten-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, the officials of the Department of Family Welfare has informed that successful open-heart surgery was performed on a ten-year-old girl in the Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular and Interventional Radiology (CTVS & IR) Department of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital.

The 10-year-old girl from the Amarpur sub-division of Tripura’s Gomati district dropped out of fourth grade from a school hostel due to family difficulties

The girl was admitted to the department of AGMC Hospital. On February 24, the girl underwent open heart surgery on her heart for about five hours under the guidance of Cardiac Surgical Team.

At present the girl’s condition is stable and she is slowly recovering.
