Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated the doctors Agartala Government Medical College and GBP hospital for successfully performing the first Open Heart Surgery.
Agartala Government Medical College and GBP hospital conducted the first open heart surgery free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Doctors from Cardio Vascular and Interventional Radiology CTVS & IR) Department of AGMC and GBP Hospital has successfully performed an Open Heart Surgery for the first time on 20th January in the pre-celebration hours of the 50th Statehood Day. Madhavi Rani Das (RS), a girl from Udaipur, was suffering from palpitations and chest pains.
She was diagnosed with heart problems last month at the Hospital. Assessing all her medical and test reports, the Head Consultant Doctor of GBPH CTVS & IR Dept. Dr. Kanak Narayan Bhattacharya has found an atrial defect in her heart.
The surgery was performed free of cost under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
In his tweet Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said “Congratulations to the doctors of Agartala Government Medical College and GBP hospital for successfully performing the first Open Heart Surgery. It’s a big achievement for Tripura’s healthcare”.
