It is possible to make the fishing families here self-reliant around this water body Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das said this after visiting Kailasahar’s Khaorabil Lake on 4 May, 2023.
The Fisheries Minister said that the fishermen of Khaorabil area are dependent on this lake. The potential of self-sufficiency in fisheries should be exploited around this water body. For this, the Department of Fisheries should come forward with a specific plan.
It should be ensured that the fishermen here can get fish hatchery and fish farming aids on time The Fisheries Minister also said that the fishermen here should be trained in advanced and scientific methods of fishing. Before visiting Khaorabil Lake, the Fisheries Minister also visited Khaorabil Choudadevta temple.
