On Saturday morning, at Churaibari Gate in the Dharmanagar Subdivision of North Tripura District, Tripura Police confiscated a large quantity of Yaba tablets found in a car attempting to enter the state.
According to sources, the seized drugs are worth approximately Rs 6 crore.
The police are registering an NDPS case at Churaibari police station, and they assert that this is the largest seizure in a single incident in recent times.
In the previous year, police confiscated roughly 5500 kg of marijuana in Mungiakami, marking the largest amount ever taken in a single event.
According to a report, the Churaibari police discovered around 60,000 yaba tablets hidden in a secret compartment of a Bulero car that they seized.
Police said that three individuals, namely Rajat Pal, Shubhankar Debnath, and Edris Miah were arrested by the police in connection with the drug seizure. Notably, all the arrested persons are from the Sonamura Subdivision.
