The Education Minister said the government has taken several steps to promote quality education in the state. This initiative of the government is to give quality education to the students. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this at the programme of bicycles distribution to female students at Uttar Debendra Nagar High School premises in Tulabagan, Mohanpur yesterday.
He said, education means moving from darkness to light, education means development. Quality education makes students sensitive. He said that students should be responsible towards society and country. They should be inspired by their sense of nationality and extend their hand of cooperation in different positive works.
He said that the present government of the state is working with the slogan “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas” The state government has given utmost importance to the development of education. The state government has given bicycles to 28 thousand 6 students studying in class IX in the financial year 2018-19 to encourage the students to go to school. 8 crore 34 lakh rupees have been spent for this. 26 thousand 530 students were given bicycles in the financial year 2019-20 spending 7 crore 67 lakh rupees have been spent for this. Bicycles were not provided in FY 2020-21 and 2021-22 due to the outbreak of Covid Pandemic. 44 thousand 673 students were given bicycles in the financial year 2022-23. 17 crore will be spent for this
Headmaster of Uttar Debendra Nagar High School Bijay Bhowmik delivered the welcome address. Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council Anita Debnath presided over the programme. Chairman of Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Rina Debbarma, Vice Chairman Rakesh Deb, Vice Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council Shankar Dey, Vice Chairman of Lefunga BAC Buddha Debbarma, Mohanpur School Inspector Sudip Sarkar, District Education Officer Rupan Roy and others were present on the occasion Bicycles were distributed among 638 female students of 15 schools of the sub-division. After the distribution programme Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath visited synthetic football turf field at Uttar Debendra Nagar High School premise.
