Heavy rains triggers flood in South Tripura; Landslides also reported in different areas
At midnight of August 24th, a heavy storm was reported in South Tripura.
The entire Belonia submerged after few hours of heavy rain on Wednesday morning.
Many people suffered losses due to the flood.
Local authorities and BLN FS personnel are leading the rescue operations on ground since midnight.
Landslides have been reported in different areas.
Rescue teams have been deployed on ground.
A young man named Narayan Bhowmik died in a landslide.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is personally monitoring the situation.
In his tweet Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said “At the midnight of August 24th, heavy storm was reported in the South Tripura. I have been constantly in touch with local authorities and monitoring the situation. Rescue teams have been deployed on ground. I assure everyone, no stones will be unturned in providing any kind of assistance to the individuals affected by the storm.
