I-PAC members have been released by Tripura Police

23 I-PAC members have been released by Tripura Police on July 27 night after their Covid report found negative.

A 23-member team of poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) has been let off its ‘house arrest’, hours after it was allegedly held inside a hotel by the Tripura police.

The team was in the state doing groundwork for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the 2023 state Assembly elections.

“The outsiders around 22 person were roaming around in various places. Since Covid restrictions are in place, they all underwent Covid tests on Monday, the reports are awaited,” Manik Das, Superintendent of Police, West Tripura.

West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu, Law Minister Malay Ghatak, and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Ritabrata Banerjee will be reaching Tripura today.
