Farmers are our breadearners. The central and state government is implementing different plans for improvement of socio-economic condition of the farmers. It has been decided in the cabinet meeting that 35 thousand MT paddy will be procured at MSP from farmers in December for which 87 crore 3 lakh rupees will be spent, enunciated Information & Cultural Affairs Ministerand Drinking Water & Sanitation Minister Sushanta Choudhury after inaugurating Lavarthi Sammelan at New Town Hall in Amarpur yesterday.
MLA Ranjit Das, Chairman of Amarpur Panchayat Samiti Sankarananda Sahu, BAC Chairman Bir Bahadur jamatia, Chief Engineer of Drinking Water & Sanitation department Shyamlal Bhowmik were present in the programme. The programme was presided over by Chairperson of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Bikash Saha. The ICA Minister in the Lavarthi Sammelan said, the Minimum Support Price of paddy (Rs. 20.40 per kg) is being sent directly to farmers account.
6 thousand rupees is being given in three installments to the farmers under PM-KISAN The ICA Minister handed over Weeder machine. paddy thrasher to 11 farmers in the programme. The machineries were given completely free of cost. 18 exhibition stalls were opened by different departments on the occasion. Prior to this programme, the DWS Minister had inaugurated the office of Executive Engineer, Amarpur Division.
