Indian civil engineer M. Visvesvaraya contributed significantly in technology. Success will come if more engineers would involve themselves into providing advanced services for public welfare following his footsteps, stated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his speech in the 54th Engineer’s Day programme held at Prachya Bharati school campus, Agartala.
He said, one should immerse oneself in public welfare taking themselves as part of the government instead of thinking oneself as an employee. He emphasized on responsibly finishing work in time by setting a time limit for it. A few frontline Covid warriors were felicitated on this day’s programme for their special contributions.
Chief Minister planted a sapling in the school campus. After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated M. Visvesvaraya’s statue and paid tribute with flower garland at Water Resources department campus, Kunjaban, Agartala.
Chief Minister also spoke on providing services with professionalism and finishing one’s tasks responsibly in time and on finding modern ways to speed up and bring efficiency in work through right kind of management. One should practise assessment through right usage of government resources and self review of work. He also emphasized on maintaining work quality through supervision when necessary and on stopping waste of government resources through proper planning and management. He said, there is no alternative way for success other than hard work. Engineer’s work is public related and work must be completed with fore-sightedness and by dividing work. Every little thing must be discussed with importance so that the services reach to all the people of every section of the society. Government has taken steps to promote and increase 3% DA even in the Covid situation.
