The Tourism department has taken initiative to start helicopter services, Hawai Safar’ at Narikel Kunja located in Dumboor and at Unakoti for travelling convenience of national and international tourists stated Secretary of Tourism department Uttam Kumar Chakma in a press meet called at the Secretariat yesterday.
The Secretary informed, travel fare per person has been fixed as Rs. 2,300 to travel to Narikel Kunja and Rs 2,500 to travel to Unakoti. Each air travel must have 4 passengers. The service might also be postponed due to emergency reasons. He informed, Unakoti tourist spot has been enlisted to be declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO according to the proposal given by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to bring Unakoti to the world arena. It is being hoped that Unakoti would be recognized as World Heritage Site.
The Secretary also informed, construction of 49 modern Log Huts at different places filled with natural environment have been taken to attract national and international tourists. 31 Log Huts have already been opened Sepahijala Forest, Tepania, Ambassa, Raramura Eco Park and Narikel Kunja. He informed, watch tower, ticket counter, parking, gallery shed, tourism facilitation centre and road repairing have been completed to beautify the unique tourist spot of the state.
Neer Mahal under Swadesh Darshan-1. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has approved 8 crore 88 lakh rupees for starting light and sound services at Ujjayanta Palace. This will be implemented by Agartala Smart City Limited. It is being hoped that the light and sound services will be starting soon.
The Secretary informed, wayside amenities have been constructed at Bishalgarh and Santirbazar nearby National Highway no. 8 for tourist convenience at the cost of 61 lakh rupees. Director of Tourism department Tapan Das was also present during the press meet.
