On Tuesday, CPIM MLA Jitendra Chaudhary addressed a letter to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha urged him to take steps towards improving the healthcare system in the Sabroom Sub-Division of South District in Tripura.
Chaudhary, the MLA from Sabroom and CPIM state secretary Tripura highlighted the genuine health concerns faced by his constituency and the entire Sabroom Sub-Division in the letter.
He said in the letter, “The people residing in the Sabroom Sub-Division take great pride in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Hospital, which stands as a testament to the commendable efforts of past governments. However, it is crucial to fully optimize the capacity of this hospital.”
The letter further said, “As you are aware, Sabroom town is rapidly emerging as a significant international destination, particularly after the inauguration of the Indo-Bangla Maitree Setu. Therefore, the expansion of healthcare infrastructure has become imperative alongside other essential services.”
Chaudhury also requested the establishment of a Fast Referral Unit in the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital, as well as the appointment of an MD (Medicines) at the same facility.
Jitendra has demanded the appointment of an Anesthesiologist and Sonologist, with at least one professional in each field, in the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital to facilitate the initiation of gynecological operations.
The letter concludes “I am very much hopeful that your good office would be generous enough on the above proposals considering the geographical importance of Sabroom Sub-Division and as a whole.”
