Joint flag march held in different parts of Tripura ahead of Assembly Polls

The Election Commission has announced a violence-free polling process to ensure free and peaceful assembly elections in Tripura.

Keeping this goal in mind, West Tripura Police Administration and West Tripura District Administration organised a flag march, which started from Agartala Hanging Bridge and covered various routes of the 13- Pratapgarh (SC) Assembly Constituency on Monday.

West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan, Pratapgarh Assembly Constituency Returning Officer Nirmal Adhikari, West Tripura District Superintendent of Police Sankar Debnath, along with various jawans and officials of the state and central forces participated in the flag march.

West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan said to the media that this flag march is being conducted as a preparation for free, peaceful assembly elections.

He added that the flag march is being conducted in various sensitive areas of the entire district to carry out the elections smoothly.

West Tripura Superintendent of Police Sankar Debnath said police patrols were conducted to create a peaceful polling environment, which will continue until the elections.

He added that State and Central Police jointly participated in the flag march.
