Justice Ranjan Gogoi is all set to be officially sworn in as the 46th Chief Justice of India (CJI). President Ram Nath Kovind will administer oath of office for Justice Gogoi at a function in the Rastrapathi Bhavan.
The oath taking ceremony is scheduled at 10:30 am. After swearing-in as the CJI, Justice Gogoi along with SK Kaul and KM Joseph will sit as a three-membered bench for a hearing.
Gogoi is also the first person from the North East to become the Chief Justice of India. At the Supreme Court, Justice Gogoi is currently monitoring the update process of the NRC.
